Little Pea Floral Design
offers floral design services in San Luis Obispo. Floristry and flowers are curated by regenerative farmer-florist & folk herbalist, Caroline. We’re here to adorn your tables, altars, & gatherings with vibrant blooms from our urban garden beds. All florals are grown at City Farm SLO in San Luis Obispo, California.
We offer an additional service (at no charge) — when the flowers are collected following your gathering, they land local hospice care facilities, nursing homes, bereavement groups, and wherever else a bright spot may be welcome. We are in the process of becoming a 501(c)3 non-profit.

The Farmer, The Florist
Like most little ones, I never needed to be told to stop & smell the flowers. My floral roots run deep. The first event I designed was my 3rd birthday (haha, I kid!), when I asked to plant flowers in the depths of an East Coast Winter. I began working in regenerative agriculture in my early twenties, and haven’t looked back since (except to gaze at all my flowers in their beds as I prepare to leave them at the end of a long Summer’s day).
I believe in present, attuned work that begins with the seeds & bulbs placed in the soil in Autumn, Winter, & early Spring. That way, my team & I can bring the dreamiest of visions, the wildest of daydreams, & the most heartfelt desires to life on your most special days.

As farmers who have primarily worked in regenerative agriculture, we believe in the heart of this work. From the roots & soil up, there is work to be done.
Our work thrives when kept local, in rhythm with the seasons, & attuned to the Earth’s needs.
We want to give back to the land that gives us such beauty, and are always intending to uplift those who know the heart of this land best, and tend it well.
Sustainable Artistry

Sustainability tacks itself onto our regenerative rhythms — We never take too much (practice an honorable harvest), minimize waste (foam-free floral designs), & serve only SLO County with our wedding florals. We never ship our flowers, and prioritize local florists & clientele as we make our crop plans, harvest weekly, & build out our Summer events calendar.
We believe in fair wages, and pay a living wage ($28/hour) to contracted & part-time employees. Being overworked is not a part of our rhythms. We take days off and enjoy the Summer for what it is — a celebration of light, joy, & all the hard work of the year, as we certainly reap what we sow. Our low client load allows us to give our whole heart (& muscle) to the weddings & events we do take on.

We believe in a collaborative florist-client relationship. Transparency, humility, and consistent communication are the name of the game. We want to know your vision as if it were our own, and bring it to life without having to bother you for even a moment on your special day.
As SLO County Wedding Florists, we know how tight-knit this community is, and we value that. For a large coastal stretch, we have that small town feel, and lean into the kinship that weaves us all together.

SLO County Farmer-Florist Caroline is an artist of many mediums, with floristry being the one most dear to her now. She works with a team of farmers & artists who follow that tune, and are adept at crafting floral canvases & landscapes akin to the exact vision of our client. Nothing less will do!
Our art comes from the heart second, the Earth first. We thank the soil, seed, sun, rains, & wind for all they do, so we can do what we do with grace, harmony, & ease.
